RISK MANAGEMENT Lessons to Share

RISK MANAGEMENT Lessons to Share 8/31/2018

From this newsletter afterwards, we will provide a piece of article dealing with risk management – lesson to share. They are cases of troubles actually handled by our staff. It might not be the best option for trouble, and we highly appreciate if you suggest more valuable experience and ideas for this topic.Risks in logistics operations refers to threats in the handling efficiency of shipments. Risks probably come from unforeseeable events such as Act of Gods or the unexpected failure like the Hanjin Shipping bankruptcy. However, occasionally logistics providers are perceptively aware of operational risks but have no plan B in case of breakdown. And as a result, interruption in logistical operations causes loss and damage in terms of money, time and reputation of the logistics operators. In other words, undesirable interruptions in logistics affect enterprises due to the delay in handling progress, additional expenses and weaken the logistic service provider business strength.  Logistics providers, therefore, should systematically map out risks and formalize the control measures to prevent the possibility of occurrence or at least to mitigate the consequences of such threats. This topic in no way aims at discussing about risk management at academic respect but sharing actual lessons, from a personal viewpoint, to help Bee Logistics staff recognize potential risk in their daily activities, and to take the next step to adopt a more effective approach to avoid risk and improve their working performance.
